Coaching Requirements

MYSA Adult Registration and Safe Soccer Training

Every year, all coaches must fill out a Mass Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) Adult Registration and complete the training modules under the MA Safe Soccer Platform.  Links for annual registration, login for the Training Modules, directions for annual adult registration, and details about the MA Safe Soccer Platform are listed to the right in Requirement Links.

MA Safe Soccer Platform

The MA Safe Soccer platform (“Safe Soccer”) follows U.S. Soccer’s Safe Soccer Framework with the aim of providing a safe soccer environment for all players and participants.  As required by U.S. Soccer, the Safe Soccer platform includes an Athlete and Participant Safety Policy that calls for the implementation of additional education, training, policies and procedures, and protocols. This policy applies to all Mass Youth Soccer member organizations, including Framingham United Soccer Club, and should be referenced on each organization’s website. The main highlights of the policy include:

  • Abuse Prevention Education and Training – as mandated by U.S. Soccer by September 1, 2019, all adults involved in youth soccer must take an initial Abuse Prevention Training course and an annual refresher. The web-based course will be offered free of charge and more information will be communicated when available on this website and via Mass Youth Soccer.
  • Expansion of Background Checks – in addition to the CORI search and check that is performed on all adults involved in youth soccer, background screenings will be expanded to also include SORI and National Background search and check.
  • New Safe Soccer Platform – a new website with lots of resources on player and participant safety, such as abuse prevention, head injury-related policies, nutrition, weather policies, and goal safety.
